The colorful photos of all those awesome train sets made us drool and we can’t wait to put these kits together! Let’s check out the trains in the HO scale.
The perfect under-the-Christmas-tree train set is the Bachmann Yuletide Special. This dazzling holiday train set includes a USRA 0-6-0 steam locomotive and tender with operating headlight, a gondola, box car, and an old-time combine. Its oval E-Z Track snap-fit track and roadbed system measures 47 x 38 inches and is made up of twelve pieces of curved track, one straight track and one plug-in terminal rerailer. The set also comes with E-Z Mate knuckle couplers power pack and speed controller, plus an illustrated instruction manual for easy assembly.
The Santa Fe HO scale train set is another great option. It includes the speedy, silver-and-red thunderbolt freight train, an EMD GP40 diesel locomotive with operating headlight, a single dome tank car, a plug door box car, an off-center caboose, body-mounted E-Z mate couplers. Its track, a thirty-six inch circular shaped snap-fit E-Z Track, is made up of eleven pieces of curved track. Also included are one curved plug-in terminal rerailer, a power pack and speed controller and an illustrated instruction manual.
The Overland Limited model railway set featuring the Union Pacific train comes highly recommended for all diehard model railroaders. It is a 4-8-4 steam train with working smoke and headlights and nine cars: three-dome tank car, a flat car with logs, a center flow hopper, an open quad offset hopper, a grain car, two plug-door box cars, a wood stock car and a wide-vision caboose. Body-mounted E-Z mate couplers are also included.
Sixteen pieces of twenty-two inch radius curved track, five pieces of straight track and one plug-in terminal rerailer make up its 72x 45 inch snap-fit E-Z track, of course a power pack, speed controller and illustrated instruction manual also come with the kit.
Another amazing option is the Bachmann Trains McKinley Explorer, which brings you on a trip to the Alaskan wilderness via the Alaskan and Westours route. The train set’s vista-dome cars are exact replicas of those found on actual McKinley Explorer trains, which in the real world enable passengers to enjoy wildlife and scenery as they travel through Anchorage, Fairbanks, and through the Denali National Park. You can duplicate the experience while putting together the four full-dome passenger cars, the EMD GP40 diesel locomotive with operating headlight and the sixty-three by fort-five inch oval that come with this terrific set.
