ho gauge track layouts
Is it okay to combine HO and OO gauge trains?

use ho but I just bought a Hornby set (virgin trains pendolino) which is OO. I have an HO layout, but is it ok to use OO on it too? I Know that oo fits on ho track, but will oo be too large for my vehicles and buildings etc? Will it be ok to combine them? Is there noticeable size difference?)

thanks

(I mean combine as in putting ho alongside oo when on 2 different tracks)

also what is the size difference (the noticable difference) in terms of mm?

On a happy home layout I wouldn’t worry. If you’re shooting for “realism”, it will look wrong. It MAY look a little out of sorts, but it would “work”.

OO gauge is 1:76.2 scale and HO scale is 1:87.

One thing that MAY be a problem… Hornby has a different system for connecting cars, so you will probably NOT be able to intermix the cars.
