model train electric transformers
A model electric train requires 6 V to operate. When connected to a 120 V household circuit, a transformer is?

needed. If the primary coil of the transformer has 240 windings, show that there should be 12 turns in the secondary coil.

P.D across seconday coil / P.D across primarry coil =
Number of turns in the secondary / Number of turns in the primary.
Therfore,
N /240 = 6 /120
N = [6 /120]*240 = 12 turns.
