When going to country fairs, science exhibitions, hobby shops and showcases, one just can’t help noticing the model trains running around its course on display. Most fascinating and popular of these trains is the N scale model railroads. People just can’t help admire and being awed by its precision, speed and accuracy negotiating turns and curves to the delight of the proud hobbyist.
The N scale model railroads refer to the 1:148 to 1:160, 9mm track gauge model railway system. It may somehow differ with several countries depending upon its manufacturer but is consistent to the distant between the rail which is 9 mm. Children and adults alike have been attracted to this model railroad and manufacturers made sure its availability all over the world. With the N scale model railroad, one can create their own layout and sceneries depicting memorable eras in one’s country or history.
As early as 1927, a lot of model train manufacturers have been in competition with each other and they ended up following a certain standard when it comes to its scales and gauges. They have maintained the realistic appearances of these models so fascinating and intriguing that the demands ran high. Manufacturers like Lionel, Atlas O, American Flyer and MTH came out with “Ready to run” kits for beginners, the easy to learn and assemble model railroad and the Craftman’s kit, for the skilled hobbyist. Building from scratch with the help of tools, layout blueprints and plans, prefabricated plywood specifically cut and designed parts were made available in the market today. Track plans and wiring instructions, repair, trouble shooting and maintenance tips also came handy for the hobbyist at the nearest hobby shop supplies. The N scale model railroads are still chugging from the 1920s to the new millennium. It is the model railroad of yesterday, today and the future.
