! 946 H / O scale train set.?
My wife has a 1946 H / S scale train back in the box that his father had bought new in 1946. She says is the blow steam engine, but needs cleaning. Well, then … I am definitely the wrong person for this job. How do I clean the engine? Where to clean the engine? Can something like this be cleaned or fixed? These pieces are easily availble for something like this? I'm at a loss because I know little or nothing about this sort of thing. "Help Me" (LOL)
Randy, Check your local phone book for a workshop or hobby models. The owner may offer services or know of a local hobbyists that makes a lot of this type of repair or modeling. It is likely blowing smoke with a smoke generator and the engine box wine I still have some kind of instruction. Usually "liquid smoke" (or some type of sediment) is added to achieve the effect of smoke escape.
