O Scale Yard Layout

Lionel Trains Rail Yard?
I have a model train layout and on the layout I have a rail yard. I want to know how I can turn on/off parts of the yard to store trains? Is there some kind of switch I need or something. My layout is O-27 scale.
Electrically isolate the track with fiber pin rail joiners and run the power through a toggle switch to the track.The toggle should be spdt or Dpdt so that one is on and one is off,with possiblity of hooking up 2nd transformer on DPDT toggles.See Cab control wiring books at hobby shop or track plan book with wiring diagram.
