Nylint Corporation was a familiar name in the sixties. If your grandparents were still around, they would share with you the story.
This company did not start with making Nylint toys as their primary business. Their primary business when they started was kitchen utensils such as a cheese slicer, flour sifter and a gravy strainer.
During World War II, the company had to change their focus to survive. They started to manufacture war related products.
After the war, they started to produce toys because it was most logical decision since they owned a lot of steel pressing equipment.
Nylint produced durable and inexpensive construction vehicles. Military replicas were also popular at this time. The company introduced a series based on Ford vehicles, including pick up trucks.
They were doing very well and changing their Nylint toys design according to the market demand.
Until 2001, they went out of business due to intense competition from others electronics toys. Children no longer wanted to play with the old model cars.
Most people want to buy these old classic toys for collection and not for their kids to play as it is used as a display and collection.
Today, Nylint toys cannot be found in any toy store. They are considered a classic collection.
Classic toys may appear in toy fair, flea market, on the internet and some magazines.
You may be able to buy some model from eBay, Amazon or toy collectors.
The price of rare Nylint toys can be ranging from a few hundreds to a couple of thousand of dollars.
